In the early 1900s, members of Thailand’s royal family discovered that Hua Hin was an ideal escape from bustling Bangkok. By the 1920s the sleepy fishing village had a proper hotel, one of Asia’s first golf courses and a royal palace; ever since then, Hua Hin has been firmly on the map as Thailand’s first beach resort town.
Despite being the country’s first beach destination, Hua Hin has maintained its charm and laidback vibe. Unlike other Thai beaches, Hua Hin does not have the all night party scene, rather, it has tranquil beaches, comfortable markets, a friendly almost neighbourly feeling and, true to it’s fishing heritage, an abundance of fresh and tasty seafood.
Hua Hin is located 200km southwest of Bangkok on the western shores of the Gulf of Thailand. Our resort is just south of Hua Hin city centre; a pleasant 2.5-hour drive from central Bangkok, 3-hour drive from Suvarnabhumi Airport or a relaxing 2-hour ferry ride from the eastern seaboard city of Pattaya.
For those who enjoy rail travel, the scenic train ride between the country’s two most beautiful train stations is about 4-hours. Bangkok’s Hua Lamphong station connects with the city’s subway (MRT) and the iconic Hua Hin station is in the centre of town, mere minutes from Holiday Inn Vana Nava Hua Hin.
